WILD MEN, WILD WOMEN & WILD LIFE - BOTSWANA

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE?

We begin our journey with the Naro Bushmen of the Kalahari. They are one of the few surviving tribes who still live on the land, tracking wild animals and surviving from the plants and natural medicines of this sandy, semi-desert land. There will be a unique-in-the-world opportunity to watch the skillful hunt of an antelope by the Bushmen, riding on the backs of wild horses.

After visiting with the Bushmen, we travel to Moremi Game Reserve to live in a rustic way, close to wild nature in an untouched area owned by the Moremi Village Community. Our host will be a skilled guide called Simo. Daily we will safari into the bush in game vehicles and also enjoy some wild walks when safe to do so. You are likely to see lion, buffalo, hippo, elephants and many buck and bird species.

Our final destination is only a short distance from Moremi Game Reserve to Chobe National Park which is home to vast herds of elephants and chatty monkeys. The Chobe River snakes its way through the reserve providing many game viewing opportunities of wild animals and elephants who come to the river to drink. Here you will also see giraffe and the shy, elusive and endemic puka (of the buck species). 

WHERE WILL WE STAY:

Whilst with the Bushmen we will stay at Grasslands Lodge in stone chalets, with a lush swimming pool. In front of the spacious dining area is a shallow water hole, from which the wild animals come and go. Our hosts and guides are the local Bushmen. Nutritious, ample meals are included and many evenings will be spent relaxing around the camp fire.

Whilst in Moremi and Chobe, to make the wildlife experience more authentic, we will be ‘glamping’ in tented camps set up by Simo and his team, in exclusive bush venues. Each tent has its own ablutions. Meals are cooked on a campfire and we will constantly hear the sounds and calls of the bush around us, but be protected and safe. 

WHAT WILL HAPPEN EACH DAY & NIGHT

Each night and day we will enjoy the extravaganza of the sights, sounds, smells and call of the wild.

Simo and the Bushmen will be our Guides into the secrets shared by our natural surroundings.

Mandy will translate those experiences into take-home, life changing understandings. Your life will reach a new level of confidence, creativity and compassion.

ABOUT THE HOSTESS:

Mandy Young is an Ecopsychologist, who has spent a quarter of a century with wild animals, tribal people and swimming with dolphins. During her profession as a Psychotherapist, which has stretched over three decades, she has walked a healing journey with people of all ages towards more loving relationships with themselves and those they care about, and now with the earth that sustains us. Mandy's passion is to help you gain life changing, take home, understandings from your wildlife encounters and observations.
